Mac FAQs
1. How do I change the child user assigned on this Mac Computer?
The correct setup process should have each Mac account assigned to your Mobicip child user. For example, if your child has a Mac account 'Sam', the account should have a Mobicip child user 'Sam' that has been mapped at the time of installation. If you'd like to reassign the child user for a Mac account, please click 'Reassign user' from the Menu and map the Mobicip child user.
We recommend parents to have a separate Admin Mac account and provide a Standard user account for the children to prevent the child user from uninstalling Mobicip. This will also ensure that the device can still be used with your Mac account credentials in cases when screen time is enabled for the child user.
2. How does Daily Free Time Limit work on the Mac?
The following are the possible scenarios when your children access the Mac with Mobicip enabled for their Mac account.
- when Daily Free Time limit is reached - all they will see is a custom block screen. Essentially, your child's Mac will be completely unusable during screen time limits
- during a schedule with web restrictions - they will be able to access only the websites that are allowed for that schedule.
- when Daily Free Time Limit has not been reached - they can access entertainment, games and other websites based on the content restrictions you set for them until the allowed time is reached..
3. Will my children be able to remove Mobicip from a Mac?
No they won't be able to uninstall Mobicip. Only the registered admin user can uninstall Mobicip from the Mac.
